hmm fiction is quite a broad category! If you're into historical fiction... I really enjoyed The Hot Gates, a novel about Spartans. If you're into Scifi/fantasy, the trilogy His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman is a great page turner. If you're into classic literature...E.L. Doctorow's Ragtime is excellent. I'm also a great fan of Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse 5.

gas saving tactics

I don't know how obscure this is, but I always plan my trips. I never leave the house, in my car, unless I'm doing more than one thing. Also, tack on extra errands during the weekday, when you'll most likely be using your vehicle anyway. I always grocery shop after work, try to schedule doctors appointments right after work, run to the goodwill to donate, etc . . .Also, and I heard this on car talk, try not to drive over 60mph if you can manage it. Apparently in most cars that burns more fuel than it's worth. You might be the one everyone's passing on the highway, but your tanks going to be a little less expensive to fill in the long run.

If you drive stick you can save gas by taking the car out of gear when you go down hill or before braking.Another one that I recently heard was to always fill up your tank to the top every time, because if you don't there will be extra gas in the hose that you don't get more often and you will use less gas driving to gas stations.Siphon your neighbor's gas. (OK that one was a joke!)

joomla is the best based on a large well organized active developer community with lots of mature add-onif your website touches many people in your organization and/or you need advanced publishing features and/or community building features and you need it to scale ... Joomla is the choice todayif you don't need the above, then often Wordpress is good enough ... WP also has active developer community and mature add-ons but it's strength is tied to it's blogging origins (Joomla can be used as a blog but it is an overkill)Most used both Wordpress and Joomla depending on the requirements

NOT purchasing vision insurance

I worked for a human resource outsourcing company for many years in management and operations. I also had my insurance license. Our insurance agents routinely discouraged employees from purchasing vision insurance. Why? It's a waste of money. Consider that you have to pay a few dollars for it out of every paycheck. Vision insurance typically allows you to visit the doctor once every two years and allows a set amount for glasses or contacts. When you add up what you paid in over the two years, versus the actual amount of the visit and glasses, it adds up to a very similar amount. You would do better to simply save the money yourself. Also, if you work for a company that has a good amount of employees, encourage the company to look into obtaining discount cards from a local optometry chain. They give your company cards good for a 10-25% discount off services, in exchange for the employees visiting them and not a competitor. Also, you can look into getting a discount by using things like student ID cards or Triple A auto cards. Good luck!

The graphics are nice, it also has some improvements with wireless networking. However, there are very few drivers, it can be a pain getting some programs to work. I would recommend it for a PC; however, but not for laptops. The extra graphics and other processes take away from a significant amount of battery life. Also the way Vista handles "sleep" is much different. When a laptop is set to sleep any action (undocking or mouse moving) will wake it up, which can take up to 10 minutes, much longer than a shutdown. (XP would sleep/unsleep in a few seconds and only do so when you pressed the power button).

I've been looking for a quick and free video editing software for a couple weeks and there was nothing out there that had want I wanted. I just needed to edit the time of some of my videos, nothing fancy, just time editing. So recently, Noel found this online video hosting site (similar to youtube). It is the perfect if you just want to upload, crop, and get the embedded code to post your video on other sites. Youtube doesn't let you crop time, and other softwares either suck or super expensive. I am very satisfied!!! Thanks Noel!!

In Rome I often frequented Obika( a mozzarella bar and the selection was wonderful. You must try their happy hour if you are ever there as it is one of the greatest deals in town). In the states I highly recommend Whole Foods and Bristol Farms for water packed creamy textured mozzarella. I make caprese with it and its absolutely wonderful.

It's not cheap but a good accountant is well worth the money. My wife and I have been using an accountant to prepare our taxes since we got married. My wife does a great job tracking our income and expenses and the accountant takes that information and gets us the largest possible deduction. You mentioned in an earlier comment that you're self-employed and this does complicate things a bit - because it gives you more options for deductions and structuring. Our cpa charges between $200-$300 to prepare our taxes each year.Besides that, if you plan to stay in business for yourself, you need an accountant you can trust. S/he will be able to help structure your business on the front end so that you save the most on taxes, fees, expenses, etc. Hope this helps!

Vista pros/cons

I have used Vista Ultimate. It's graphics are stunning. If you press the windows key and tab it will give you a nice 3-D version of alt-tab. The only bad thing about Vista is that the not too companies have created Vista drivers. You may find that a lot of programs and hardware will not work becuase of incompatible drivers. My suggestion is Don't format your Windows XP. Wait until Vista SP1 comes out. Experiment with Vista on a secondary computer.

hahah I'm the unfortunate friend that both the same shoes! heheh I've tried the gold bond foot spray and still it did nothing. I really don't think there's a cure. It's definitely the fabric. I still wear them, but only if I know I will not have to take them off in public. hahah It sucks, but that's the price you have to pay for a cute pair of shoes, especially an expensive one, so you better make some use of it.

My favorite tea is green tea. The full leaf kind. Watching the green leaves expand or open up in the hot water is relaxing in itself.I can't recommend any brands because I've never bought the full leaf variation myself, I've received it as gifts from friends, but perhaps someone else on here will be able to vouchon a good brand.

I have a hamilton beach custom grind that works really well for grinding small batches of coffee. It has blades as opposed to burrs.I don't know how well the burr grinders work but so far the blade grinder has done the trick for me.

I swear by this! It works like magic for people who get super red and super drunk after a shot of liquor. It's completely safe and works really well. I always carry around a couple pills just in case. Take one 15-20 mins before your first drink and you will be protected from the embrassing redness. It also gives you a nice buzz instead of the heavy drunkeness feeling.

Quality Teas

Half my family is British, tea is a serious matter. While we differ on brands, we do agree open/full leaf is the only way to go. At work I keep a Black and Decker Brew n'Go - made to do one cup of coffee but it works perfect for open leaf tea. (Use two teaspoons for one coffee cup worth of tea).My brand is Republic of Tea - I drink tea straight as you do and I find they have the best flavor. For the morning, I'd say go with black teas (also higher caffeine than green), and Earl Greyer is a good place to start. Vanilla Almond and Ginger Peach are two of my favorites for branching out. I'd say order one of each in an 10oz full leaf can and get yourself a Brew n'Go. In a week you'll be saying, "what's coffee"?
