Can you vouchon drupal as the best CMS??

What's the most reliable, modular, scalable CMS that you've ever come across? Drupal or something else?

cms, drupal, mambo

We know you that you usually vouch for things, but vouchfor doesn't sound nearly as cool as vouchon. When you vouchon something, you're basically offering up a recommendation. And then you're saying, "Hell yeah. Vouch On! (like Rock On!)."

Title

Just complete the sentence. I can vouchon _______________.

URL

A URL is just a website address. If the person, place, or thing that you're 'vouching' on has a website, enter it here. If not, well, no biggie.

Tags

Tags are like keywords that will help others find your topic in the future. If you're 'vouching' on organic milk, your keywords might be - organic, milk, goat, cow, natural, healthy, environment

Text

Just go into a bit of detail about your recommedation. Explain why your vouch is top-notch and all the others shoud freeze in the cold.

stuboo can vouchon Wordpress (+4)

I know Wordpress is not a traditional CMS, but for most sites, it does the job. I only know a bit of php, I can customize Wordpress any way I want - and make it do just about anything. The most recent version of WP (2.1) even has a few extra features built in that make it more like a cms and less like traditional blogging software.

For what it's worth, I've installed and used, joomla/mambo, drupal, webedit (by interspire), phpnuke, wordpress, and moveable type.

I prefer WP but I realize that it's not perfect for all cases. In my opinion, though, if I came across a project that I couldn't do with WP, I'd have a cms custom coded for the site. Hope this helps!

sanarchy can vouchon Plone! (+2)

Plone is by far the best CMS I've researched or used. With tools like ArchGenXML (UML -> Add-on tool), W3C XHTML and CSS compliance you can't go wrong!

Thanks for that sanarchy. I've read about plone in the past but never used it myself. I don't know much about python - which is why I haven't used it. I'll definately be trying it out though.

@stuboo, no problem. I definitely encourage Plone for anyone new or experienced with the web / cms / programming. Plone allows users of all levels to excel and get the job done as quickly as possible. It is extremely intuitive to use, easy to develop for, and even easier to customize in appearance. Best of luck!

tommac2005 can vouchon for Wordpress and Xoops (-2)

I know WP is mainly aimed at blogs, but with some customising and tweaks, it can do the job.
I found Xoops and PHPNuke to be useful too, but had plenty of teething problems with Xoops.
Plone however, is the bees knees, complies with every standard, and used by massive sites woldwide.

ktaneer can vouchon Joomla 1.5 , and Expression Engine (-1)

Expression Engine (EE) is a paid cms for commercial use. However, its very good and rich in features. Joomla 1.5 which is currently in beta is good competent for EE and drupal. It has overcome the drawbacks of its prev version.

I think wordpress is for bloggers but drupal is for community websites. New Drupal is very interactive and easy to use with out of the box settings.

cmayaud can vouchon Joomla as the Best with Wordpress 2nd Best (0)

joomla is the best based on a large well organized active developer community with lots of mature add-on

if your website touches many people in your organization and/or you need advanced publishing features and/or community building features and you need it to scale ... Joomla is the choice today

if you don't need the above, then often Wordpress is good enough ... WP also has active developer community and mature add-ons but it's strength is tied to it's blogging origins (Joomla can be used as a blog but it is an overkill)

Most used both Wordpress and Joomla depending on the requirements

joshthejest can vouchon Drupal is the best CMS! (0)

Drupal is the easiest CMS to setup that I have ever used. The community is enormous, and there are a plethora of add-ons that can be installed. Be sure to subscribe to the security mailing list so that when security holes are found you can patch them right away.
